Who can resist Rock-Ola's automotive styling in the Tempo II? Not me! Had to have it! 1959, the silver anniversary of Rock-Ola! This is a good example of "great photo on eBay, then it's delivered" and SMOOTZ EVERYWHERE! (That's Don's word for greasy dirt- Don being a friend who lives in San Francisco). Anyway, you know how it is. Fuzzy picture, everything looks pretty. But close-up it's a different story. You name it, this box had it on it. And the boomerang. THE BOOMERANG was broken! I knew that, chanced it, found a good one, she cleaned up just fine and then on to the amp. The amp was a problem. Bill Bickers (Jukebox Friday Night) fixed that and she fires up just fine. needed 2 buttons. Got 'em, took a day to replace them it seemed! What is it about Rock-Olas? Anyway, filled her with some car tunes 'cause, you know, she looks kinda like a car!
And about Rock-Ola. What is it about Rock-Ola and their styling? Sometimes they are dead-on and sometimes, "yuck". I love my Rock-Olas! Seems I am kinda partial to them sometimes. Okay, on to the pictures!
Please do not post these photos anywhere without permission.
Thanks., Brad
